House Seal Outline

Washington, Jan 27 -

U.S. Representative John Boozman (R-AR) today announced grant opportunities available through the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA).

In response to natural disasters during 2008, EDA is accepting applications to support long-term post-disaster economic recovery. $400 million is allocated to the six regional offices. $134,300,000 is available for the region that includes Arkansas.

Disaster funding is available to city, county, public and private universities and non-profit entities in the state of Arkansas with declared FEMA disasters. Projects that qualify must be able to be implemented quickly and can include infrastructure, planning and job creation.

For an application or go to www.eda.gov. If you need more information please contact Tim Riley in the Lowell office at (479) 725-0400.
