Congressional Art Competition
In the spring of every year, the United States House of Representatives hosts a Congressional Art Competition for amateur artists. The competition promotes attention to the arts by recognizing talented young artists from across the nation. The competition is in its 22nd year and has reviewed over 650,000 pieces of artwork.
Generally, local contests are held within each Member’s district and the winning entries from all districts are displayed in the Cannon Tunnel for a period of one year. Each winning student receives an invitation to attend a grand-opening ceremony for the unveiling of the display.
Competition requirements with respect general guidelines such as content suitability and framing will be release at a later date.
