BROWNBACK CONGRATULATES SPRINT NEXTEL MOVE TO KANSAS
Current Co-Corporate Headquarters consolidating to Overland Park

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Sam Brownback today congratulated Sprint Nextel for consolidating their corporate headquarters to Overland Park, Kansas.

"Sprint has long been an outstanding Kansas company and entered a new era when it merged with Nextel," said Brownback. "It is a positive step for the company and for Kansas to consolidate the operations and executive aspects of the company in Overland Park."

Sprint Nextel announced today that the company will combine the operational headquarters in Overland, Kansas and the corporate headquarters in Reston, Virginia to Overland Park. Reston had served as the corporate headquarters since the merger of Sprint and Nextel in 2005.

Brownback continued, "Kansas is a great place for business and many great companies have been started and operated in Kansas. Kansas is the geographic center of the country and provides a well-educated and hard-working workforce. I encourage any company from anywhere in the world to move to Kansas."
