Senator Carper was pleased to help announce $1.5 million in federal funding to help Delaware's low-income people with disabilities find decent, safe and affordable housing. Recognized was the Krysti Bingham Cerebral Palsy Foundation for their efforts in securing nearly $600,000 of that money. The Arc of Delaware received the rest. Senator Carper was on hand as the final exterior beam of the latest Buccini/Pollin Group project was put in place. The WSFS Bank Center at 500 Delaware Avenue will also be home to the law firm of Morris, James, Hitchens & Williams, and, as the senator announced to the crowd, home to the Wilmington Post Office. He was surrounded by Chris Buccini, Wilmington Mayor Jim Baker, City Council President Ted Blunt and Councilwoman Hanifa Shabazz.

Senator Carper, along with Congressman Castle and Wilmington Mayor Jim Baker, visited the Wilmington Music School to share the news of $200,000 in federal funds to aid the school in their capital campaign.

Senator Carper was thrilled to announce that Honeywell International selected New Castle County as the location for its new Eastern United States data center. The center will host approximately 50% of the company's servers and software applications. After the announcement, the senator took a tour of the 60,800 square foot building and was joined by (l-r) Representative George Smiley, County employee Karl Kalbacher, County Executive Chris Coons, Honeywell CIO Larry Kittelberger, Honeywell VL Rick Kriva, County Council President Paul Clark, and DEDO representative Gary Smith.
