Transportation
As anyone who has driven across the eight counties of the 5th District knows, local roads, bridges and highways have both immediate and long-term transportation and infrastructure needs. Ginny is working hard in Washington, D.C. to make sure that the needs of her constituents are met.
Florida’s 5th District is one of the fastest growing districts in the nation, and infrastructure improvements are badly needed. In Ginny's first six years in Congress, she has brought increased federal funding for local highway upgrades and expansions throughout the 5th District.
These federal funds will not only improve our transportation infrastructure, but will create high-paying and quality jobs for hundreds of area residents. Nevertheless, there remains much more to be done. Florida’s long-term economic health depends on meeting its growing transportation needs. As your Representative, Ginny will continue to work with her colleagues in Congress, the Florida Department of Transportation, and the United States Transportation Secretary to ensure that the communities of West and Central Florida continue to receive necessary highway and infrastructure improvements.
