The 2007 Congressional Art Competition has been completed, with three worthy young artists honored for their work at a ceremony in the Brooksville City Hall. The names of the artists and description of their works or art are included below. Please be sure to watch for inforamtion about thr 2008 competition early next year.
1st place:
Danielle Shortt is a senior at Hudson High School. Her piece is entitled “A Touch of Autumn” and was drawn with colored pencils. Danielle is the daughter of David & Dena Shortt of Hudson. Her art instructor is Clay Verge.
2nd place:
Alejandro Gaxiola is a junior at Pasco High School in Dade City. His piece is entitled “Mexicana” and is done in pencil. He is the son of Catalina de Leon of Dade City.
3rd place:
Andraya Avery is a junior at Lecanto School of Art at Lecanto High School. Her piece is entitled “Striped Jackets & Splats,” and is done in Digital Photoshop 7.
