Sen. Cornyn Meets With Irving Mayor Gears

WASHINGTON—U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, today hosted a meeting with Irving Mayor Herbert Gears in his Washington office:
“I welcomed the opportunity to meet with Mayor Gears today in Washington. We enjoyed an informative discussion and I was pleased to learn more about the Mayor’s priorities for Irving families and businesses, including several economic development projects such as the Irving Convention and Entertainment Center at Las Colinas. I complemented him and all of the community leaders who are working to bring the impressive Las Colinas Urban Center to fruition. I gave him my assurance I will work to advance the priorities of Irving constituents on the federal level and continue to work to lower taxes and put policies in place that grow the local economy in Irving.”
Sen. Cornyn serves on the Armed Services, Judiciary and Budget Committees. He serves as the top Republican on the Judiciary Committee’s Immigration, Refugees and Border Security subcommittee and the Armed Services Committee’s Airland subcommittee. He served previously as Texas Attorney General, Texas Supreme Court Justice, and Bexar County District Judge.
