 WHITE HOUSE TOUR INFORMATION

The White House is a popular spot for tourists from all over the world to visit while they are in Washington, DC.  Below you will find some important information regarding how to book tours of the White House and the necessary security information.

White House tours are scheduled Tuesdays through Saturdays from 7:30am-12:30pm and are booked on a first requested basis.  If you are planning a trip to Washington, DC during peak season (Memorial Day through Labor Day), please be aware that the White House is very busy and the earlier you request a tour, the more likely you will able to be accommodated.  Therefore, it is advised that you request White House tours at least 30 days in advance.

CAPITOL TOUR INFORMATION

Wonderful public tours of the United States Capitol are given by office Architect of the Capitol tour guides.  These guides are very informative and visitors of all ages will enjoy hearing and seeing this important piece of American history.  Below you will find some information regarding Capitol tours.

The Capitol is open to the public for guided tours only.  Tours are conducted 9:00am-4:30pm Monday through Saturday.  Visitors in small groups can obtain free tickets for tours on a first come, first served basis, at the Capitol Guide Service kiosk located outside the Capitol right off of Independence Ave.  During peak season, it is advised that you plan your trip to the Capitol early in the day as to avoid the rush.

United States Mint in Philadelphia

Tours for groups of six or fewer citizens to the United States Mint in Philadelphia  may be arranged through our District Office at (215) 387-6404.

Larger tours of students and youth groups (grades kindergarten through 12), and organized military and veteran groups may be arranged through the Office of Exhibits and Public Services at the Philadelphia Mint at (215) 408-0112, by appointment only. Two weeks advance notice is required for scheduling and security purposes.
