MARTINEZ: ECONOMIC STIMULUS PAYMENT COMMUNITY OFFICE HOURS
Representatives from Senator Martinez’s Office and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will be available to assist those who have not yet filed for their Economic Stimulus Payment benefit
U.S. Senator Mel Martinez (R-FL) today announced Economic Stimulus Payment Community Office Hours from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to be held at the James B. Sanderlin Family Center in St. Petersburg on Friday, September 5th.“Members of my staff and the IRS will be available to assist residents with claiming their stimulus checks that became available earlier this year. Thousands of hardworking Floridians in the St. Petersburg area have yet to claim their checks and we want to ensure that they receive what they deserve,” Martinez said.
Millions of retirees, disabled veterans, and low-wage earners who usually are exempt from filing a tax return needed to have filed a special form earlier this year in order to receive a stimulus payment. The IRS has set an October 15, 2008 deadline for those eligible. During this event, IRS representatives will be available to assist constituents with filling for their Economic Stimulus Payment benefit.
