Committee Assignments

Appropriations Committee
This committee oversees $800 billion in discretionary spending annually.

Subcommittee on Science, State, Justice and Commerce, and Related Agencies
This committee oversees federal discretionary funding for: Department of Commerce, Department of Justice, Department of State, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, National Science Foundation, Broadcasting Board of Governors, Commission on Civil Rights, Commission on International Religious Freedom, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Federal Communications Commission, Federal Trade Commission, Securities and Exchange Commission, Small Business Administration, State Justice Institute and much more.

Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development
This committee oversees federal discretionary funding for: Department of Energy, Department of Defense-Civil; Department of the Army; Corps of Engineers-Civil, Department of the Interior; Bureau of Reclamation; Central Utah Project, Related Agencies: Appalachian Regional Commission, Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board, Delta Regional Authority, Denali Commission, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board, Tennessee Valley Authority.

Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government
The subcommittee oversees all financial regulators, such as the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Federal Reserve, all matters pertaining to consumer credit including the Consumer Credit Protection Act and access to financial services, as well as the safety and soundness of the banking system.
