Ros-Lehtinen Pleased To Have Helped

Miami Children’s Hospital’s Brain Institute

Obtain Millions Of Dollars In Federal Funds

 

Miami, Florida ---- Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a senior member of the Florida Congressional delegation, is very pleased to have assisted Miami Children’s Hospital’s Brain Institute obtain millions of dollars in federal funds. The Congresswoman is a strong advocate in the US House for the hospital and its facilities.

 

In 2005, Ros-Lehtinen obtained $1.5 million and another $1.5 million followed in 2006. In fiscal year 2007, Ros-Lehtinen along with the help of the other members of the South Florida Congressional Delegation obtained $1.2 million in federal assistance for this important South Florida medical center.

 

With these federal funds, Miami Children’s was able to purchase a one of a kind intra-operative MRI scanner, as well as fund a five year study of traumatic brain injuries. 

 

Said Ros-Lehtinen, “This hospital is part of the fiber of our great city so for me it is a true joy and honor to be able to assist them as they strive to make this fine medical center into one of the very best in the country. Every cent in federal funds that Miami Children receives is a result of the bipartisan manner in which our South Florida Delegation works and it is something we are all very proud of.”
