Cardin Holds Health Care Forum In Salisbury

Cardin Announces Bill to Create Harriet Tubman Historical Park
Senator Cardin joined local and state officials at a press conference in Dorchester County to talk about his proposal to create a Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Historical Park in Maryland. The National Historic Park in Maryland would trace Tubman's early life on the Eastern Shore, where she was born and later escaped from slavery to become one of the leaders of the Underground Railroad. A second Historical Park would be created in New York to honor her later years. The bill creating the two parks was introduced by Senators Cardin, Mikulski (MD), Clinton, and Schumer (both NY).

Cardin, Cummings Present $243K to Baltimore City Public School
Senator Cardin and Congressman Elijah Cummings presented $243,677 to the KIPP Ujima Village Academy to support student programs and to extend learning times. For three consecutive years the KIPP Ujima school has been the highest performing public middle school in Baltimore City.
