Small Business Administration Resources
The Small Business Administration (SBA) is an independent federal agency that promotes the development and growth of small businesses. The SBA counsels and assists small businesses and works through private lenders to provide loans and loan guarantees to promising firms.
The Idaho District Office is responsible for the delivery of SBA's programs to the entire state. The District Office is located at: 1020 Main St., Suite 290, Boise, Idaho 83702, Phone: (208) 334-1696.
Financing
When people think of the Small Business Administration, they often think of SBA loans. SBA operates several loan programs designed to help small business owners gain access to the capital they need. If you need financing to expand or start your business, you should consider the following programs:
The 7(a) Loan Guaranty Program is one of SBA's primary lending programs. It helps provide loans to small businesses unable to secure financing on reasonable terms through normal lending channels. The program operates through private-sector lenders that provide loans which are guaranteed by the SBA – the agency has no funds for direct lending or grants.
The LowDoc loan guarantee program is one of SBA’s most popular programs. Once you’ve met a lender’s requirements, SBA offers a simple, two-page SBA application form, and rapid turnaround for loans up to $150,000.
The Other Financing programs through SBA offer specialized lending programs designed to assist with other business needs, such as equipment financing, export working capital, or short-term lines of credit.
SBA’s Federal Grant Resources page provides information about the agency’s grant programs.
