This morning, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, of which Senator Dodd is a senior member, met to consider a non-binding resolution to express the Senate’s opposition to the President’s Iraq strategy escalating troop levels within Iraq.  This resolution passed.

Senator Dodd, an outspoken critic of the escalation, proposed an amendment to the resolution which would limit troop levels in Iraq, and require a new Congressional authorization.

Senator Dodd’s amendment was rejected by a vote of 6 to 15, but the Senator remains hopeful that further action will be taken to stop the President’s failed policy in Iraq.  During this morning’s hearing, Senator Dodd stepped out to record his thoughts.
