GARDEN CITY, NY—On Monday, February 2, 2009 Rep. Carolyn McCarthy will host a Blood Drive in conjunction with Long Island Blood Services at her District Office in Garden City, NY. The Blood Drive will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of 200 Garden City Plaza, Garden City, NY 11530.

“Without the help of donations, area hospitals will not have enough blood to meet their demands,” said McCarthy.  “It is critical that all who can give blood donate as soon as possible.”

The Long Island Blood Services Busmobile will be in the parking lot of 200 Garden City Plaza from 11:00 am until 4:30 pm.  For more information on the blood drive, please call (516) 739-3008.

“Blood donors save countless lives every day.  Giving blood today may save the life of someone’s child, parent, or grandparent tomorrow,” said McCarthy.  “It’s time for Long Islanders to come together and do their part to make sure all types of blood will be available to our hospitals and clinics. I ask that everyone who is able please consider offering a blood donation on Monday, February 2, 2009.”
