The Chicago Ridge Public Library has received a $60,900 from the Illinois State Library under the federally funded Library Services and Technology Act. The grant money will be used for T Time, a program intended to bring the library together with pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade public and private schools in Chicago Ridge; Listening to Learn, a program intended to improve children's listening skills, understanding of English and increase their enjoyment of storytelling; and Risk Watch Citizens Safety Academy, a program intended to educate adults about basic safety skills and injury prevention.

Seen here are Chicago Ridge Library youth services librarian Judith Fischer (from left), library director Kathleen McSwain, U.S. Rep. Daniel Lipinski, Chicago Ridge Mayor Eugene Siegel, youth services department head Constance VanSwol, and assistant library director Kathryn Sofianos.
