Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s Third District released the following statement today to commemorate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, which is celebrated on Monday, January 19.
“This Monday, we honor the memory and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., whose call to service is as important today as it was during his lifetime. On Tuesday, January 20th, when our nation celebrates the inauguration of President Barack Obama, we will take an historic step toward fulfilling the dream that Dr. King so eloquently championed and for which he sacrificed so much.
“As we remember Dr. King during this historic moment, let us recommit to his message of service, social justice, and hope, and heed it not just on this occasion, but each and every day in order to strengthen our community and our country.”
