October 22, 2008
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman David Dreier (R-San Dimas, CA) was recently honored by the non-partisan senior citizen group 60 Plus with the Guardian of Seniors’ Rights Award. Dreier received the award based on his pro-senior voting record of protecting Social Security and eliminating the Death Tax.
“Seniors have worked their entire lives and the last thing they need is the government coming around to take more of their hard earned money,” Dreier said. “I have always supported tax relief for seniors and believe protecting Social Security for them is crucial. I am honored to have the support of the 60 Plus organization.”
60 Plus National Spokesman and legendary entertainer Pat Boone offered praise for Congressman Dreier’s senior-friendly voting record. “I am pleased to present this honor to Congressman Dreier. He is a tax cutter, protecting the pocket books of senior citizens. Clearly, seniors have no finer friend in Congress than David Dreier.”
Boone cited Dreier’s support for repealing the 1993 tax imposed on Social Security benefits, as well as Dreier’s support for repealing the “Death Tax” which hurts small businesses and farmers across the country.
