WASHINGTON – Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU) will receive $12,565 in federal grants from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Senators Chris Dodd and Joe Lieberman announced today. The funding will be used for fire prevention and safety initiatives.
“The best way to protect people from the devastating effects of fire is to prevent them from occurring in the first place,” said Dodd. “This assistance will help keep students, faculty, and firefighters at ECSU safer. The Bush Administration needs to do more to ensure fire prevention and safety assistance reaches all those who need it.”
