Today Congressman Dan Maffei (NY-25) officially took the oath of office and joined the 111th Congress. Congressman Maffei said: “I stand before you a Central New Yorker who, against the odds but with great persistence, accomplished his dream. Now, my mission is to see to it that this community accomplishes its dreams and potential. But, as your representative, my capacity depends on your input and support. Through your presence today, you show me that you will be there.
I cannot think of a more trying time since before World War II to be starting service in Congress. But if you are with me, I am fully confident we will succeed as region and, as a nation, will restore peace and prosperity. I am so very proud to serve this district. I pledge to work my hardest every day to make you proud of your representative.”
