PAULSEN NAMED TO FINANCIAL SERVICES COMMITTEE

WASHINGTON -- Third District Rep. Erik Paulsen has been named to the House Financial Services Committee.

Financial Services Committee Ranking Member Spencer Bachus welcomed Paulsen to the Committee, saying, “Erik Paulsen has the crucial expertise and experience in the business world to help this committee restore our economy, create jobs and return the government to sound fiscal principles.  We look forward to having his experience, energy and ideas on our committee.”

"I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on this distinguished panel, which will be deeply involved in the most crucial issues facing our nation – how to create jobs, stimulate growth and restore confidence in our economic system," said Paulsen.  The Committee has jurisdiction over a wide variety of issues, including banking, housing, credit cards, real estate and insurance issues.

"The people of the Third District are worried about their jobs and next paycheck, and I will work hard on this important committee to reform our broken financial system and create jobs," said Paulsen.  Congressman Paulsen has extensive experience in the business community, and one of his principal areas of focus during his time in the Minnesota House of Representatives was on fostering job creation.  This is his first term in Congress.
Paulsen was appointed to the post by the Republican Steering Committee.  Subcommittee appointments will be made by the full Committee next week.
