Required materials are staged and will continue to be staged on the East Front grassy areas.

    2. Excavation and utility installation work continues along Northeast Drive. There will be no parking on Northeast Drive until this and other AOC work is completed in this area.
    3. Utility work will continue in a zone at 1st St. & Maryland Ave. Traffic has been constricted slightly where the work is occurring, but traffic flow will be maintained at all times. Pedestrian bypass signs have been posted to direct pedestrians on the east side of First Street NE.

Other Construction Activities (not related to the CVC)

Capitol Dome

Interim maintenance work on the Capitol Dome continues. Crews erected scaffolding around the base of the Dome (not the Dome itself) and on the West Plaza to the roof. This interim work should not be confused with the more comprehensive Dome Restoration Project, which is expected to begin after completion of the CVC project. This current activity will continue into early September 2002, but will not impede access to any building entrances. Work on the Capitol Dome is not related to the CVC project, but notice is provided here to alert Members and Staff of this activity.

West Front - Construction Activity Related to the Memorial Day Concert

Construction activity in support of the Memorial Day concert continues on the West Front lawn. The AOC Capitol Grounds office is coordinating this effort. This work is not related to the CVC project, but notice is provided here to alert Members and Staff of this activity.

If you experience any problems with building services inside the Capitol, please contact the Capitol Building Service Center at (202) 228-8800.
