February 10 –“Love” is the Poetry at Noon theme, noon-1 p.m, featuring Poet-Attorney Edwin Zimmerman of Washington, DC; Kristin Berkey-Abbott of Hollywood, FL; and Judith Offer of Oakland, CA, Whittall Pavilion.
February 24-25 -- Robert Burns 250th Birthday Celebration, co-sponsored with American Folklife Center and Center for the Book and the Scottish government, Mumford Room information: http://www.loc.gov/folklife/Symposia/Burns/ . “Poetry, Celebrity and the Public,” panel discussion, Feb. 25, 2:30-3:45 with Poet Laureate Kay Ryan.
February 26 – Poet Laureate Kay Ryan introduces the 2009 Witter Bynner fellows, two emerging poets whom she selected to receive fellowships and read at the Library. A book-signing and reception follows the 6:45 p.m. program, Montpelier Room.

March 10 – “Abraham Lincoln,” Poetry at Noon reading complementing the Library’s Lincoln Exhibition, features guest poet and Lincoln scholar Daniel Mark Epstein, noon-1 p.m., Whittall Pavilion.

April 2 – Poet Laureate Kay Ryan introduces nationally known poets Brigit Pegeen Kelly and J.D. McClatchy at their reading, 6:45, p.m., Montpelier Room.
April 7 – Poetry at Noon 15th Anniversary Reunion Reading, noon-1 p.m., Whittall Pavilion. Poetry at Noon alumni who wish to read should email pgray@loc.gov.
April 21 – “Shakespeare’s Birthday” Poetry at Noon reading presents classical Shakespearean actors and members of the audience reading from the Bard’s works, noon-1 p.m., Whittall Pavilion.

May 7 – Poet Laureate Kay Ryan closes the Literary Season at 6:45 p.m., with a reading in the Coolidge Auditorium, and possible reception in Whittall.
