DISASTER RECOVERY
CENTERS OPEN Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) was
pleased the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Illinois Emergency Management
Agency opened three disaster recovery centers today to serve victims of severe
storms, tornadoes and flooding that occurred May 6 - 11. After calling the toll-free application number, 1-800-621-FEMA
(3362), disaster victims may visit the short-term centers to meet face-to-face
with recovery specialists. Representatives of local, state and federal agencies
will be on hand to provide information on disaster assistance programs. Also,
people who are rebuilding or making repairs can learn about ways to reduce future
disaster damages. "These are important services to help people affected by the storms
get back on their feet," said Costello. "I encourage residents to take advantage
of the information and expertise available from these agencies." Locations and Hours of Operation: Metropolis Community Center - Superman Square - Metropolis Cincinnati Township Building - 204 East Main St. - South Pekin Lima Fire Station - 316 N. Rangeline St. - Lima Monday through Saturday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday: 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Until Further Notice (All centers will be open
