Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that two projects at Southern Illinois University Carbondale have received grants from the National Endowment of the Humanities:
Media Projects · $29,996 - Serge Koussevitzky - planning for a television documentary about Serge Koussevitzky, conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, including his work in Russia, Europe and the U.S. and his influence on 20th Century classical music.
Scholarly Editions · $100,000, with an additional match of $50,000 - John Dewey Correspondence - the third volume of a three-volume electronic edition of John Dewey's correspondence covering the years 1871-1952.
"These types of projects add a great deal to the learning environment of the community," said Costello. "I will continue to support these efforts."
