Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Riverbend Head Start & Family Services, located in Alton, has been awarded a $6,530,560 Head Start grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The money will be used for its Handicapped Training and Technical Assistance Program.
"I have consistently supported funding for early education programs," said Costello. "Learning to read and write is the foundation of a good education. Head Start has been extremely successful in equipping our students for the future."
