Washington - .S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) this morning presented six medals to World War II veteran Orloff L. Offerding of Red Bud in a ceremony at the Red Bud VFW. Mr. Offerding entered the U.S. Army-Air Force in January 1943 as an Airplane Sheet Metal Worker and he took part in several air offensive campaigns in northern France and Central Europe, particularly in Ardennes and the Rhineland. He served with Squadron B/558 AAF BU and was honorably discharged on October 25, 1945 at Scott Field.
