Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Egyptian Community Unit School District #5 has received a $338,000 loan through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Office of Rural Development. The funds will be used to install a 20,500 foot sewer force main and pump station and pay related costs to enable the school to connect to the Central Alexander County Sanitary District for sanitary sewer services.
"Reliable water service greatly improves quality of life and is essential to maintaining current operations," said Costello. "I will continue to work to ensure that these resources are available to our communities."
