Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Anna Fire Department has received a $47,495 Assistance to Firefighters grant through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The funds will be used for Operations and Safety. Costello cosponsored the legislation that created the Assistance to Firefighters program.
“The Assistance to Firefighters program is providing critical resources directly to local fire departments enhancing safety in our communities,” said Costello. “Our first responders and the people they protect deserve nothing less. I will continue to work to ensure that this valuable program receives the necessary funding and leadership to remain effective.”
