Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Riverbend Head Start & Family Services, located in Alton, has been awarded a $3,186,466 Head Start grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The money will be used for its Head Start program.
"This is a very successful local program that prepares children for success in school," Costello said. "Head Start has proven to be one of the most effective federal investments and is especially important given the demands of the economy in the 21 st Century."
