SOUTHWATER, INC. RECEIVES USDA AWARD

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that SouthWater, Inc., located in Dongola, has received a $340,000 Water and Waste Disposal grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Office of Rural Development. The funds will be used to continue construction of 12 linear miles of water line in Alexander, Pulaski and Union counties, extending water service to new users.

"Reliable water service greatly improves quality of life," said Costello. "It also is a key factor in promoting economic development. I will continue to work to make these resources available to Southern Illinois."
