COSTELLO HOSTS AGRICULTURAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING

Sparta - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) held a meeting of the 12th Congressional District Agricultural Advisory Committee on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at the Randolph County Farm Bureau office in Sparta, Illinois. Costello invited Tom Jennings, Acting Director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture, who offered a perspective on agricultural issues from the State of Illinois.

Congressman Costello's Agricultural Advisory Committee is made up of members from each of the eleven counties in the 12th Congressional District. Their role is to assist the Congressman and advise him on agricultural matters in the district.

Costello briefed committee members on legislative issues related to agriculture and the economy and heard directly from members of the farming community regarding key agricultural issues and concerns.
