$400,000 to Iowa State University from the National Science Foundation

WASHINGTON - Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that Iowa State University has received a continuing grant of $400,000 from the National Science Foundation. The $400,000 will be spread throughout five years.

“These funds will provide Iowa State University with resources to help continue their high level of research,” Grassley said.

Iowa State University will use the funds to help pay for a research project title, “CAREER: Sculpting Electric Machines for Unidirectional Motion.” The research hopes to result in lighter weight, more efficient and more cost effective solutions for electromechanical energy conversion for nearly all generation and motion applications.
