Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that two area fire departments have received Assistance to Firefighters grants through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The funds will be used for operations and safety. Costello cosponsored the legislation that created the Assistance to Firefighters program.
“Properly equipping our first responders is one of our most important national priorities,” said Costello. “Our firefighters risk their lives protecting our communities and we owe them our full support.”
