On 7th Anniversary of 9/11, Sutton Remembers Lives Lost

WASHINGTON, DC - On the seventh anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Congresswoman Betty Sutton (D-OH) released the following statement:

"Seven years ago, we experienced an attack that forever changed our nation. Many of us are still struggling to come to terms with a loss that is almost too painful to imagine, but one that we must never forget.

Today is a time to remember and honor the thousands of Americans who lost their lives on that fateful day. These were wives, fathers, friends, brothers and sisters just like you and I, and our thoughts and prayers go out to their loved ones. It is also a time to honor our nation's first responders, who bravely risk their lives every day for the sake of others.

Today, let us keep in our hearts and minds the memory of all the people who were killed in New York, Pennsylvania and at the Pentagon. But let us also celebrate the unity that we as Americans displayed in the aftermath of this great tragedy. The strength of Americans in the face of adversity is unparalleled, and that is what should be remembered on this day."
