Picture of the White House

The home of the president attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. The tour includes such celebrated rooms as the East Room, the State Dining Room, the Red, Green and Blue Rooms and the President's Library.

Self Guided Tours are conducted Tuesday through Saturday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Tours can only be scheduled for groups of ten or more people and must be arranged through a congressional office.

Because the White House is one of the most requested tours in Washington DC it is important to schedule this tour far in advance. We suggest requesting this tour up to 6 months in advance in order to maximize the chances of the tour being accepted by the White House.

To request a tour please contact Senator Harkin's office by e-mail or by calling 202-224-3254. White House tours are also available for school groups, veterans groups, and youth groups by contacting Senator Harkin's office.

Call (202) 456-7041 for additional White House tour information.
