- The United States has become dependent on other nations for approximately sixty percent of the oil it consumes. This reliance on foreign oil allows other nations to dictate the price of energy in our country and threatens our economic security.
- Encouraging conservation, developing alternative energy sources, and increasing the responsible production of our domestic sources of fossil fuels will help make our nation more energy independent.
- I strongly support reasonable oil and gas exploration in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the continental shelf.
