Thursday, January 22, 2009:
9:30 am: Convene and begin a period of morning business for 1 hour, with senators permitted to speak for up to 10 minutes each. The Republicans will control the first 30 minutes and the Democrats will control the second 30 minutes.
10:30 am: The Senate will resume consideration of S.181, the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. There will then be 60 minutes for debate.
11:30 am: A roll call vote in relation to the Hutchison amendment is expected.
The following amendments to S.181 are pending:
- Hutchison #25 (Republican alternative)
- Specter #26 (Structure)
- Specter #27 (Other Practices)
- Enzi #28 (Standing)
- Enzi #29 (Standing)
Additional roll call votes are expected throughout the day. The Majority Leader announced that he would like to complete action on S.181 on Thursday. If that is not possible, he will file cloture on the bill.
