WASHINGTON, D.C. –Congressman John Salazar announced today a U.S. Department of Transportation grant to improve guidance signs and taxiway markings at San Luis Valley Regional Airport.
“I know this funding will help the San Luis Valley airport continue to provide safe and efficient air service for residents and pilots in the San Luis Valley and the neighboring communities,” said Congressman Salazar. “I will continue to work to provide necessary funding for projects like these, projects that will improve our infrastructure and strengthen our economy.”
The grant will:
• Provide $123,693.00 in funding for the first phase project to install new airfield guidance signs and taxiway markings at San Luis Valley Regional Airport, Alamosa, Colorado.
• Upgrade the signs and markings will bring the airfield into compliance with Federal Aviation Regulation Part 139, and will enhance the operational safety and efficiency of the airport.
