Statement on the retirement of Sen. Voinovich
U.S. Rep. Steven C. LaTourette (R-Bainbridge Township) today issued the following statement on the retirement of Sen. George V. Voinovich (R-OH):
“George Voinovich has served our state with honor for more than four decades, and it has been a pleasure to work alongside him in Congress. He has been a tremendous advocate for Northeast Ohio and has devoted his life to being a caring, thoughtful, ethical, generous and tireless public servant. I know this was a tough decision for George because he so deeply loves the Senate, but I know he and his beloved wife, Janet, are looking forward to spending even more time with their children and grandchildren.”
