Senator Lautenberg joined members of the New Jersey National Guard’s 1-150th Assault Helicopter Battalion and their families at Trenton's War Memorial as they prepared to leave for Iraq. This is the second 12-month tour to Iraq for the 300-member battalion, which was last in Iraq three years ago. (January 25, 2009)

Today in the Senate

January 29, 2009:

The Senate will convene at 9:30 a.m. and resume consideration of H.R. 2, the Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act.

There will be roll call votes throughout the day as the Senate continues to work through amendments to the Children’s Health bill.
