WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) today issued the following statement after President-elect Obama chose Lisa Jackson to head the Environmental Protection Agency:
 
    “Lisa Jackson will be an excellent EPA Administrator.  From fighting global warming and promoting a clean energy future to improving the quality of our air and water, she understands we need real leadership to rebound from the neglect of the last eight years.  Through years of working with her in New Jersey and in Washington, I know she has the knowledge, expertise and innovation to be a success.  I look forward to working to ensure her confirmation process moves quickly through our committee and the full Senate.”

    Lautenberg chairs a subcommittee on the Environment and Public Works Committee, where Jackson’s confirmation process would begin.
