The number of uninsured children in Nevada is on the rise, especially as the state’s unemployment rate increases. That’s where the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) comes in. Called Nevada Check-Up in our state, CHIP ensures that children can see a doctor when they need one. Nevada Senator Harry Reid today discussed the importance of strengthening CHIP and the impact it will have in our state, where more than 115,000 children are without health care. In leading the Senate toward passage of this bill, Reid will ensure that those children get the care they need when they are sick and the check-ups they need to stay well.

“This bill is about making sure kids have health care when they need it, pure and simple,” Reid said. “This bill has broad support from Democrats and Republicans alike, so I hope we can pass it quickly so we can get help to those families who need it the most.” To read more on Senator Reid’s work for Nevada please visit the Issues page on his website by clicking here.
