Art Competition

The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982 as a way to promote arts education. Each spring, thousands of young artists submit their works to be judged. Over 650,000 high school students have participated in the nationwide competition since its inception.

Congressman Moran has been honored to host the Art Competition for his Northern Virginia constituents, many of which have gone on to become professional, award winning artists.
The Artistic Discovery Contest is open to all high school students. The winner in each district receives the honor of having their art work displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year.

All entries must be an original in concept, design and execution.

If you would like more information on how to submit an entry for the Congressional Art Competition, please contact Bryan Spoon at 703-971-4700 in the Congressman’s District Office. The deadline for submissions is generally in early Spring.

We look forward to your submissions and wish you the best of luck in all your artistic endeavors.
