$512,460 to the University of Iowa from the National Science Foundation

WASHINGTON - Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the University of Iowa has received a grant of $512,460 from the National Science Foundation.

“These funds will provide the University of Iowa’s Chemistry Department with an important tool to help continue their high level of research,” Grassley said.

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Iowa will use the funds to help pay for a cyber enabled 500 MHz solid state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometer. NMR spectroscopy is a broadly used tool by chemists for the analysis of materials.
