Kirtland Irving Perky, served from 1912 to 1913
Kirtland Perky was born in Smithville, Ohio, on February 8, 1867. He attended the public schools there and graduated from Ohio Northern University at Ada in 1888. He studied law at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, and was admitted to the bar in 1890. He commenced practice, after graduation in Wahoo, Saunders County, Nebraska.
Perky then moved to Albion, Idaho, in 1894, and became a district judge of the fourth judicial district of the State of Idaho in 1901. He then moved to Boise, Idaho, and continued the practice of law in Boise. He was appointed as a Democrat to the United States Senate to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Weldon B. Heyburn. Perky served from November 18, 1912, to February 5, 1913.
When a successor was elected and qualified, he resumed the practice of law in Boise and moved to Los Angeles, California in 1923, and continued the practice of law until his death there on January 9, 1939. He is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Glendale, California..
