Road and Bridge Construction and Reconstruction |
Construction activities meet agency goals by reconstructing roads with severe deferred maintenance backlogs to original condition, and by making capital improvements to provide road access to meet forest plan management direction. Construction and reconstruction is necessary to accommodate traffic for some timber sales and for some healthy forests program fuels projects. For example, roads that are designed at the minimum standards needed for use by logging trucks can’t accommodate wood chip vans without widening curves and smoothing rolling dips. |
