DETAILS
Mas Selamat bin Kastari is believed to be a former leader of the Singapore Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) terrorist network. He allegedly directed and planned terrorist operations against several local and foreign establishments, including American assets, in Singapore. One plot allegedy involved attacking a bus that shuttled United States military personnel and their families to a subway station. Another alleged plot was an abortive attempt in 2002 to hijack an aircraft and crash it into Changi Airport in Singapore. None of the plans were followed.
