The Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE), working together with state child support programs,
is committed to improving the lives of children by using automated nationwide child support enforcement strategies.
One effective strategy is the enforcement of the Multistate Financial Institution Data Match (MSFIDM), a component of
the Federal Offset Program. MSFIDM (i.e., matching information on delinquent obligors against records of their financial
accounts), has significantly increased collections toward past due child support. Additional benefits for children include
initiation of regular payments through wage withholding and lump sum payments towards arrearages.
