WIA Section 166 Native American Employment and Training Council

Introduction:

The Native American Employment and Training Council (NAETC) provides advice to the Secretary of Labor regarding the overall operation and administration of Native American programs authorized under Section 166 of the Workforce Investment Act, as well as the implementation of other programs providing services to Native American youth and adults under this Act.

The Council functions solely as an advisory body and in compliance with the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA). The NAETC shall advise the Secretary on:

* All aspects of the operation and administration of the programs assisted under the Workforce Investment Act, Section 166;

and

* the selection of the individual appointed as head of the Indian and Native American Programs.
